I'm officially throwing in the towel on XLsuite and applying for a role at Shopify.
I just spent a few hours building a site on their platform and I was impressed with the focus on simplicity and usability.
We stopped trying to make an easy to use tool years ago when it became clear that customers were willing to pay more for a managed service than they were to build it themselves.
That said, in retrospect, the use of a plugin architecture, rather than an "everything and the kitchen sink" approach was a much more focused, scalable way to build the product.
So it's official, I've applied to Shopify and will look at migrating my existing clients onto their platform.
